Last updated: 15 September 2026

Junban has no account, no server of ours, and no analytics. Everything you put into it stays on your device and in your own iCloud. We never receive it and cannot read it.

1. Who we are

Junban is made by TreasureBoat (the “Vendor”). This policy covers the Junban app only; the TreasureBoat framework and developer tools have their own policy at privacy-policy.html. Questions go to office@treasureboat.org.

2. What we collect

Nothing. Junban does not ask you to create an account, does not sign you in, and sends nothing to any server operated by us. There is no analytics framework, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app.

We do not know who uses Junban, how many people are on your list, or whether you won last Monday.

3. What the app stores, and where

The app keeps what you type into it:

This is held on your device, and synced through your own iCloud using Apple’s CloudKit private database, so the same list is on your iPhone and your iPad. A private database belongs to your Apple Account: it is not somewhere we can reach, and we have no way to see or retrieve its contents. Apple’s own privacy policy governs iCloud itself.

If you turn iCloud off for Junban, the app keeps everything locally instead and syncs nothing.

4. A training session is not kept

The evening itself — who was paired with whom, round by round — exists only while the session is running and is discarded when you finish it. Only the totals are added to the season.

5. Photos

If you add a photo for someone, it is chosen through the system photo picker. The app does not have access to your photo library: the picker runs outside the app and hands back only the single image you picked. That image is stored with the rest of the app’s data and goes nowhere else.

6. Notifications

Junban asks permission to send notifications so the end of a round can be heard when the app is not on screen. These are scheduled by the app on your own device. Nothing is sent from a server, and no push token is transmitted to us.

7. What the app connects to

Junban makes no network connections of its own. It talks to iCloud on your behalf, through the operating system, and that is all. There is no connection to treasureboat.org from inside the app.

8. Children

Junban is a tool for organising a training session. It is not directed at children, and because it collects nothing, there is nothing we could collect from them.

9. Your choices

Everything is yours and under your control. Delete a person, reset the season, or delete the app; turning off iCloud for Junban in the system Settings stops it syncing. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing to request from us and nothing to ask us to delete.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always at this page, and the date at the top says when it last changed.

11. Contact

Write to office@treasureboat.org.
